Common Name:

Tells: Viscid purple-red cap. Moss in marshland. Yellow pores bruise dark blue/gray or blue/black, resolving slowly brown. Stem flesh is yellow high, reddish lower down, staining dark blue.

Other Information: Cap color varies from dark red or purplish through the red spectrum to orange or (by the edge) yellow. Yellow cap flesh w/reddish line by the skin & reddish zone by tubes, yellow parts staining blue & ten fading slowly to whitish. Yellow to creamy stem streaked w/ever-more red going down, often w/yellow base. Yellow mycelium. Very rare. Grows in swampy areas, in moss by the roots of various trees.

Edibility: Unknown.
