Common Name:
Tells: Deep red cap fades to pale orange-yellow w/red splashes. Yellow pores bruise blue. Dark red stem w/no netting. Yellow cap flesh stains blue.
Other Information: The books say it’s found in Michigan, but many sightings have been reported on-line from Missouri too.
Science Notes: Soon to be merged with Pulchroboletus sclerotiorum. The genus is for sure. The species name… let’s see what the gods of nomenclature have to add.
