Common Name:

Tells: Has yellow gills instead of pores that DNS. Small (<2″) olive cap ages to olive-brown & then fades to buff-brown.

Other Information: Yellow stem partially covered w/red-brown fibers & spots. Whitish-yellow cap flesh darkens to yellow in the stem & orange-red at the base.

Edibility: Unknown.

CHEMICAL TESTS:

  • NH4OH (Ammonia): Cap skin turns pink-purplish brown or black, then quickly resolves to mahogany-red.
  • KOH: No data.
  • FeSO4 (Iron Salts): Cap flesh slowly turns weak olive.
