Common Name: “Butter Foot Bolete”
Tells: Golden yellow or yellow-with-brown stem has yellow netting. Nothing stains. Yellow pores darken w/ age. Dense texture w/ shallow pores.
Other Information: An attractive find.
Edibility: Choice.
CHEMICAL TESTS:
- NH4OH (Ammonia): Cap surface turns yellow. Cap flesh turns a more intense yellow.
- KOH: Cap surface turns deep yellow. Cap flesh turns a more intense yellow.
- FeSO4 (Iron Salts): Cap surface does not change. Cap flesh turns a more intense yellow.
