Common Name:
Tells: Red pores and yellow flesh stain blue instantly. Red or red-brown cap & yellow stem covered w/dark red granules both bruise blue.
Other Information:
Edibility: Edibility unknown, but red pores that blue very quickly are a bad sign.
CHEMICAL TESTS:
- NH4OH (Ammonia): Cap surface turns brown. Cap flesh turns dirty yellow.
- KOH: Cap surface turns red or darker red. Cap flesh turns dirty orange.
- FeSO4 (Iron Salts): Cap surface and/or flesh may turn light gray, but not always.
