Common Name:
Tells: Dull brick-reddish cap ages toward cinnamon. Yellow cap flesh blues instantly & may taste acidic. Maroon baby pores age to orange-red & bruise blue.
Other Information: Yellow stem gains ever more orange-brown spots going down. Likes hazelnut, oak & beech. Yellow mycelium. This is so hard to distinguish from the other red-pored blue-stainers that one suspects the names and finds have been heavily confused over the years. A proper DNA study is required.
Edibility: Unknown.

- NH4OH (Ammonia): No data.
- KOH: No data.
- FeSO4 (Iron Salts): Blue-stained cap flesh turns yellow and then slowly olive.
