Common Name:
Tells: Yellow, brown-staining pores w/in a yellow-brown membrane. Cap flesh smells pungent, tastes bitter, & may stain blue. Short stem w/dark brown dots.
Other Information: Only known from Oregon, where it likes hemlock and fir. See GastroS. larcinus for an Eastern counterpart that grows under larch, and G. suilloides & amaranthii for California versions.
Edibility: Unknown.
