Tells: Tawny- to brick-orange cap w/white patches from its baby veil. Likes large-toothed aspen & oak.

Other Information: White cap flesh stains reddish, darkening to lavender & resolving to purple- to dark-gray. White pores age to tan or olive-brown, & bruise yellowish before resolving browner. Stem scabers start white & age through yellow-brown to dark brown/black. Stem sometimes has blue stains lower down. The remnants on the cap are a key distinguishing feature.
