Tells: Whitish flesh slowly stains brown w/yellow by tubes. Blackish scabers on longer, whitish stem go from fine to top to coarse below.
Other Information: Whitish pores darken w/age & stain yellow-tan, resolving brown. Dull yellow-brown cap may crack or fissure w/age. Likes birch and maple. Tends to be a northern species.
