Common Name:
Tells: Tropical. Dark grayish stem is yellow high, ages yellower, and can have a rough texture. Yellow pores age darker and bruise greenish blue. White to very pale yellow flesh bruises very slowly.
Other Information: The name refers to Benin, where the species was originally found. Only known from Louisiana and Mississippi. The only member of the genus as yet found in North America. Photos show the cap flesh will slowly but incompletely bruise to a slate blue, with reddish notes in the stem flesh.
