Other Information: White-buff stem DNS & has no netting. Likes birch & hemlock. Only known from central Pennsylvania. X. affine has a darker cap.

Edibility: Unknown, but affine (and other) Xanthoconiums tend to be good.

CHEMICAL TESTS:

  • NH4OH (Ammonia): Cap skin turns red or red-brown.
  • KOH: No data.
  • FeSO4 (Iron Salts): No data.
