Other Information: White, pale olive, reddish, or brown cap flesh may slowly stain brown. Grows with black oak.

Edibility: Good.

CHEMICAL TESTS:

  • NH4OH (Ammonia): No data.
  • KOH: Cap skin turns brown to orangey-brown. Cap flesh turns dull pale yellow.
  • FeSO4 (Iron Salts): Cap flesh turns dull bluish green.
